Opening the third eye is one of the most important aims in kundalini yoga. Nowadays there are lots of incorrect methods and incorrect ideas about third eye. So many people who haven’t opened their 3rd eye, spread incorrect and useless meditation methods being lost themselves and making others also. After practicing number of different meditation methods for more than 10 years I was lucky inough to practice the correct third eye meditation. After reading so many ineffective meditations I decided to reveal the correct meditation to open the third eye so that a number of useless efforts wont be taken.
In our body there are three elements. They are the physical body, mind and energy body. Energy body is made up of chi energy flow paths. These paths are arranged in the shape of our physical body. In this energy body there are 7 places where chi energy is concentrated. These are called as KUNDALINI CHAKRAs. Normally this energy chakras are not activated and the energy within these chakras are not accessible. By practicing yogasanas, prana yamas and kundalini meditations we can activate the chakras and then we can use the energy of the chakras.
Among the 7 chakras, the one which is located in the middle of
forehead is called as the AJNA CHAKRA , also known as third eye or rishi eye.
Third eye has its name because this energy spot looks just like an eye and also
activating it gives us the ability to see the unseen. This is located
vertically in the middle of forehead, between the brain and the frontal bone.
This is only an chi energytic eye. You wont find an eye in your brain by
dissecting forehead. Third eye looks similar to a normal eye ,but it is
not brown coloured. It is blue coloured. This is because the color related to
energy of ajna chakra is blue (or violet)
By opening third eye so many paranormal abilities can be gained. Night vision
(infared vision), mind reading ability, ability to see microscopic animals and
objects, ability to see things which are at far away, ability to see past and
future, ability to see past lives and future lives, ability to see inhuman
beings such as gods and ghosts, ability to separate mind from the body and
travel by mind (astral travels) ,teleport ability, ability to hypnotise
humans and animals , telepathy communication ability, psychic vision, levitating ability and so
many other abilities can be gained by opening the third eye.
PREPARATION FOR MEDITATION:
Firstly choose a time and prepare a place , which and where you can meditate everyday. Doing the meditation everyday in same time and same place is very helpful for quick development.
To do the meditation sit on the floor in the yoga pose called PADMASANA (lotus pose) . This pose is very helpful to any kundalini meditation because when we keep our body in this pose the energy flow arranged in an specific way which induce chakra activation. If it is difficult to sit in padmasana sit in ARDHA PADMASANA OR in SIDDHASANA OR in SUKHASANA.

You must sit on the floor to do this meditation .Its ok to use something like a floor mattress. But don't do the meditation sitting on a bed or a chair because in this meditation the chi energy of ground has to be taken in to our body. Don’t keep any mudras with your hand. Put your right palm on your left palm.
To open the third eye , energy has to be exchaned through the third eye. For this, an energy source has to be selected. There are 3 energy sources which are Fire, Air and water. Since fire is suitable for the majority, in this post Im going to explain the fire method.
To do the meditation there should be a dark background. Doing the meditation at night will be easy. Put a candle or an oil lamp infront you, where you meditate. Arrange the
1) height of the candle from the floor and
2)distance between you and the candle
in such a way that it is not difficult for eyes for look at the flame
of candle for a long period of time. Keep the flame of the candle align to eye level.
MEDITATION:
There are 2 steps in this meditation. First step is to get the mind to a deep level of concentration using relevant energy source. For this step Look at the fire flame for a considerable time period and concentrate on the flame. Then close your eyes and concentrate on the image of the flame you see. When the image of the flame get disappears open the eyes and concentrate on the real flame again. Try this for many times . Once your mind starts to really concentrate it will come a state of mind where you can see the flame just like the real flame even when your eyes are closed. This level is called in Buddhism as UDGRAHA NIMITHTHA. This is a very high level of concentration. When you have reached this level keep your eyes closed and concentrate on the image of flame. After a little time the image may will disappear. Other thoughts will disturb your mind. You will loose the concentration. Try again and again to focus only on the image of flame. To reach this level usually it takes about 4 - 6 weeks. Do the meditation continuously at least one hour per day until you will reach this level. After reaching this level continuously meditate on the image of the flame.
Then your mind will reach a further more deep concentration level .Your mind will come to a higher state of mind where you will see the image of flame continuously. No any other thoughts will disturb the mind. The only thing in mind will be the image of flame. This level is called as PRATHAMA DHYANA (first level of deep concentration)
* You should not concentrate on the afterimage of the flame. Afterimage is a physiological effect caused on eye cells. It does not indicate the state of mind. afterimage is made by any light source after looking at it for a long time.
* And also you should not concentrate on an imagined flame.
We dont have to imagine anything, when our mind goes to a higher level , when our concentration ability slightly exceeds the normal level we can remember the flame even when our eyes are closed .we can see it just like the real flame. It does not looks like an afterimage. It looks similar to the real flame. This is neither a physical thing nor an imagined thing. This is something related to our mind and memory. Do not misunderstand the Udgraha nimiththa as the afterimage.
Second step is to move energy through the third eye. For this step imagine that
the
flame of the candle come to the forehead,
go in through the forehead,
go in through the third eye and
go out through the third eye,
go out through the forehead.
and go back to the candle .
Meditation is visualizing that the flame go in and out through the 3rd eye . This is the meditation to open third eye. But you must not start with this step because before doing this step your mind must have reached a considerable level of concentration. Unless it will be very difficult to open the third eye .And also activating chakras without a concentration ability will be very harmful to your brain and mind. Its like sudden thundering on your head. Your brain cells may will be damaged and you may will be subjected to mental disorders. You have to gain the ability to control the extra energy you get. When you do the
meditation of imagination of flame exchange through third eye, the third eye
chakra starts to activate. When the 3rd eye is activating you will
feel twitching in the middle of forehead. Do the imagination continuously. When it is
very close to open the 3rd eye , you will see something like
lightning (or a silver ray) in the middle of your forehead. When you have reached this
level do the meditation as long as you can because it is very close to open the
3rd eye. (but even after this level it may take few days to open the
3rd eye) When you do the meditation continuously the third eye will
be opened and when you close your eyes you will see a blue eye vertically on
the middle of forehead. At this level even if you have closed your eyes you
will see your surrounding through your third eye. Even the lights are off you
will see the surrounding just as day time.
While doing the second step listening to the omkara induce the activation of third eye. Here (click here) is a correct and effective omkara you can download. (If link doesnt work try THIS(click here). While doing the meditation let this play. Don’t focus on the omkara. Focus on the meditation. Just Let the omkara to be heard by a headset, ipad, sound system, mobile phone or anything. The frequency of omkara vibrate the the 3rd eye and it helps the 3rd eye activation. Don't use this in the first step. Listen to the omkara while doing the second step.
While doing the second step listening to the omkara induce the activation of third eye. Here (click here) is a correct and effective omkara you can download. (If link doesnt work try THIS(click here). While doing the meditation let this play. Don’t focus on the omkara. Focus on the meditation. Just Let the omkara to be heard by a headset, ipad, sound system, mobile phone or anything. The frequency of omkara vibrate the the 3rd eye and it helps the 3rd eye activation. Don't use this in the first step. Listen to the omkara while doing the second step.
Just like using fire you can also use either water or air as energy sources. I will soon add posts describing how to do them.
Lord shiva is the god of third eye. Each and every person who do third eye meditation are watched by Lord shiva. Any person who is with harmful attitudes or objectives towards the society won't ever be able to open the third eye because lord shiva wont let him succeed. So if you need to open the third eye first of all throw away all of your harmful objectives and attitudes. After opening third eye If you will misuse your third eye you will definitely loose you third eye very soon and you wont be able to activate any chakra again and you will be punished and also you may will have to compensate with your life.
In most books and articles the information about the location of third eye is incorrect. Third eye is not located in the middle of eyebrows. Third eye is located in the middle of forehead. And also it is not located horizontally like physical eyes. It is located vertically.
The secrets of the success of this meditation is
*to do the meditation continuously everyday and
*to do the meditation for a long period of time (at least 3 hours).
But if you will start with 3 hours you will be bored in 2,3 days. Therefore start with 1 hour time period and daily increase the time little by little.
Not doing the meditation continuously and regularly may will cause many illnesses and mental disorders. Therefore if you cannot do the meditation regularly in a proper way don’t do this meditation.
For the quick development of any kundalini meditation you can get the help of gods. Worshiping and praying gods will be helpful for the success of the meditation since they can offer their energy to you. Worshipping Lord Shiva is very helpful for the success of third eye meditation. If you wish to seek the help of lord shiva play or sing SHIVA THANDAWA every day. And also chant “ OM NAMAH SHIVAAYA” mantra for about 15minutes before you start meditation. The meaning of namah shivaaya is “I worship lord shiva” or “ I bow to lord shiva”. Remember the meaning when you chant the mantra. Worshipping Rawana is also helpful for the success of meditation.
When third eye is opened for the first time it remains opened for about 3, 4 days but no more. Therefore you have to do the meditation again and again even after you have opened the third eye. After opening the 3rd eye for the first time, if it get closed, there are many other ways to open third eye other than meditation. But those methods are not effective for opening the 3rdeye for the first time. Disclosing head to bright sunlight reactivate the third eye automatically. Looking at the following pictures for a long time also reactivate third eye.
You will experience many other ways to reopen third eye . But you
cant ever activate the ajna chakra for the first time by these shortcuts.
When doing the meditation Chi energy get stored in the ajna chakra. In the time when you are not meditating, this stored energy decreases. This energy loss can be stopped by pressing the center of the thumbs with a sharpen pencil or anything which has a pointed end. Keep pressing the middle of thumb for about 3, 4 minutes. Do this few times in the non-meditating time of the day.
Draw a picture of a face with a third eye and keep it in a place where you can see it when you are sleeping on the bed. This will psychologically motivate you and it will be helpful for the quick development of meditation.
Doing kundalini meditations cause blockages, corrections and rearrangements in energy flow paths. These things often cause many illnesses such as headaches , fever, cold etc. If the illness is critical stop meditation and start again only when you are cured. If illness is bearable reduce the time of meditation until it is cured.
Doing this meditation few times per day cause many illnesses. Do the meditation once per day and do it for a long period. Don’t do it many times.
If you have had a mental illness you must consult a doctor before doing this meditation because this meditation has a part of imagination.
When practicing these meditations different persons
get different experiences. For those situations different methods has to be
applied. Only a person who have opened the third can give the appropriate instructions for the specific situation.

ReplyDeleteCan you explain if you are to look at the afterimage of the flame (ie the afterimage that occurs after looking at a bright source of light) or concentrate on an imagined flame before you.

No we should not concentrate on the afterimage of the flame. Afterimage is a physiological thing caused on eye cells. It does not indicate the state of mind. afterimage is made by any light source after looking at it for a long time.

I have been doing meditation and when suddenly one day my third eye started throbbing and since then, almost two weeka its pulsing, when ever i put awareness and in routine too. I could feel throbbing of energy in my spine sometime rising almost to back of throat, vibrations , tingling as if someone is flowing fingers on back of my gead, blue and purple mix colors in vision while in meditation. But havent tried tratak with candle. I will surely try this. Bas3d on your experience , am i progressing towards opening of third eye. I am totally on orgnic diet from past 1 month.
Please help.i have been searching for right guidance as said by you , there are lot of same n similar text running here n there on internet.

these things you experience due to blockages of energy. you should do Nadi shuddhi. then blockages will be fixed.
Deletebest way to do nadi shuddi is to litsening to omkar from 3.30 AM to 5.30 AM. Dont use a headset . A much loud noise is needed to vibrate body. Use computer, mobile phone, sound system to play omkar.
The other best way to do nadi shuddhi is to do anuloma viloma( sukhi purwak) pranayama.
And when you meditate, before starting meditation do some warm up and streching exercises. But dont do energytic hard exercises. soft exercises are also helpful to clear energy paths

I am also doing,....nadi shodhna, bhastrika, samana kriya, shambhavi mudra, shakti dharna , and swasti mantra....since then i have started feeling energy flowing into my spine...
I will def listen to omkar...between said time.

energy rising feelings, color visions, vibrations usually occur due to activation of energy. So keep trying. Try this meditation. Meditation is always better than other ways to activate chakras because it is systematic, smooth, it goes step by step and it makes the mind powerful.
Deletethrobing, pulsing , tingling feelings happen due to blockages. Thats why i asked you to do nadi shuddhi.
Thanks a lot for your guidance, i have started with complete focus on nadi shodhna. I am also doing body detox...i could feel yesterday the fault in wires...at the lower bacm ..n thus connectivity issue due to acid while detoxification process.

it is a symptom as well as a blockage. ur energy is activating but it is blocked . thats why pinching pulsing feelings occur
